![]() A lightbulb idea for all who need eternal peace of mind! |
I
came across the legal story
of a man called Harland Stonecipher who suffered a car accident
with his wife Shirley in July of 1969. He couldn't pay for the
legal
help he needed to fight it which made him think that legal protection
was only there for those who could afford it. Rather than give in, he created a club for car owners that offered legal services. This led to the formation of Prepaid Legal Services today (now called LegalShield) which offers affordable monthly memberships to all of its members. I wouldn't mention this except it happened that I needed help to obtain my rightful disability claim and was able to get it through becoming a member and having a lawyer go to bat for me. It just makes sense that everybody should have their rights protected at a fee anyone can handle. Why should the rich have all the rights and not everyone? ![]() gardening tips for all! |
I
have had a garden all
my life from the age when I 'had' to look after it as
a young girl to earn my allowance. That comes under the category of
trimming, cutting, pruning, planting, picking and watering. Of course, there is so much more to gardening. I grew to love the whole process from seeding to harvesting. The trick to it all is knowing your product, how long it takes to create an edible result, the types of nurturing and feeding and of course, learning new ideas to protect it so you are pleased with the result. Below are a few ideas that might appear familiar on composting but yield appreciated results. You can also see more under the 'Gardening' link above. |

A wooden bin with two compartments, one for soil to use and the other side to fill with the compost mixture should be sufficient for your needs. |

Where I live, winter freezes our soil so a thin layer of thick plastic is appreciated and a hand trowel to scrape dirt off the pile from the bottom. |
![]() |
A pile of leaves in a near by trash can is handy for alternating layers. Also pet hair, dead leaves from indoor plants and coffee filters can be added. |

Enough moisture is maintained without having to add water through winter months and all compost can still be used all through the season. |

Any pet instinctively
knows
who you really are by a factor they hold dear called smell. The scent
you give off also alerts them to your mood or state of mind and health. My little male pet dog is part Daschund and part Cocker Spaniel and has a more assertive type personality. Cody Bear has a wild spirit, is the light of my life and enjoys everything we do together. Being left alone even for a few hours is not in his understanding. However, sometimes I have had to leave him briefly and it tears me apart when I come back to hear his tale of woe. I do not let him wallow in it though since I must be the leader of our little pack. He gets along fine with my older female shorthair cat. She tolerates him since she gets jealous and is set in her ways. But never a claw has she raised towards me or him and that was something she had to be taught. Sufficient to say, the work you put into your pet equals the quality of the result. I consider myself blessed. See more under the 'Pets'link above. |
![]() We are all spiritual beings living together! |
The joy of being alive is
expressed in every blade of grass, tree, human, animal, flower, bird
and so forth by the emission of spiritual
energy. It is the source of all things
and is even found in what we consider stationary objects like a book, a
house, a plot of soil and even a rock. Everything is moving, even the desk I sit at while I type. I just can't see it since the density of movement is much different from myself. This connection ties us all together as beings on the planet. The conception that we are all separate, removed from each other is erroneous. The cells that make up matter are around us and in us. Just like the cycling sun every day and the planets moving around each other and the seasons within our year, cycles of life are in perpetual motion. We determine the reality of our own lives by the joyful or negative feelings we spread and feel. Then does it not make sense to spread joy as a choice and by so doing, attract more of the same from others and enrich the circumstances in your life? I truly believe so. ![]() Eating well is a learned experience that lasts the rest of your life. |
We all think we have the magic
formula for eating properly and good health. We add the
right proportion of nutrition,
buy fresh where possible, use supplements and vitamins to balance and
top it off with some common sense. However, many of us don't make the time to cook from scratch and so use canned or processed foods to throw in the mix. As we now know, these products are full of preservatives and chemicals. Growing your own garden is the surest way to provide freshness and quality of vitamin and mineral content yet many of us have not got the time for that or space either. However everyone has the time to grow a small herb garden on the window sill or veranda to add to your good health. Buy at local fresh markets when you can since it is the surest way to get quality if you don't have a garden. Get those veggies in you as much as you can. Become your own best friend and care what you eat since no one else will ever take such good care of you. You deserve it! |
![]() Reading is a creative pursuit as is anything that puts joy back into your life! |
Every
stage of my life has encouraged me to flower using some sort of creative
expression. I didn't think of myself as an artist, just someone who
enjoyed hobbies and craft work among other things. Then I found myself making special works of my art for friends to utilize my sense of humour. I just saw a potential and went for it. My parents got us kids into Lapidary, creating rock jewelry and gems at home. It was very satisfying and filled the void as to what to give someone for a birthday or occasion. We went camping and that led into joining groups like guides to learn how to tie knots and other useful creations. Who knew you could make a chair out of tying knots and wood together? Here is also where I found pen pals over seas and learned the charm of writing to communicate. My mother also helped by getting us to write thank you letters when we received gifts. That led to my belief that being grateful and showing it is vital. Later, I tried painting with water colors and oils. I took illustration and learned to write articles. From there more wonderful creative things emerged. Who knew I had that in me? |
